IS it TIME to SEND the JACKET or COAT to the CLEANAERS ?

I know dry cleaners are very expensive and also use a lot of chemicals. We always will try to wear our garments as many times as possible before sending them to be dry cleaned.

I find it very strange that we take our time checking if our dresses, skirts, and trousers need to go to the cleaners but neglect to do the same to jackets and coats.

We grab a jacket and a coat to go out without even blinking or taking to 2 seconds to double check if they need cleaning, until…. one day we have that very important meeting, then is when we have a look at them properly. Look for stains, then the collar and then we go 😱😱😱 “where does all this dirt on the collar come from???"

Collars on jackets and coats stay in contact with our necks all the time, they will absorb, grease, sweat and will remove the dirt from our necks (not because we do not wash but because of the environment we live in), so they tend to get dirty very quickly and once the line stain fixes on to the collar will be very difficult to remove it, especially on light garments.

MY ADVICE IS:

Every time you remove your jacket or coat, check for a line on the collar, as soon you notice a line appear send it to be cleaned. Do not wait for next time or for that very important occasion or meeting, then ….it can be too late.

IF YOU NEGLECT IT

1 - You will not be able to wear on that special occasion

2 - It does not matter how many times the cleaners will try to remove it, the stain will be permanent, and you can end up with a very expensive garment ruined.

Note - The collar on this jacket did pass my inspection but then paying a closer look, I noticed some stains on the sleeve. I’m glad I took my time this time
