HOW TO LOOK AFTER CORDUROY GARMENTS
Very important
Do not wash corduroy jackets at home
check the garment care label
Look for stains and pre-wash them by hand first, before putting them in the washing machine
Close zips and buttons
Wash them always inside out.
WHEN IT COMES TO WASHING CORDUROY GARMENTS I TEND TO FOLLOW THIS METHOD
STEP 1 - I wash them always in warm water a 30c (hot water can cause shrinking) never spin more them 600 and use gentle detergents. I never overload the washing machine and always try to remember NOT to wash in the same load, fabrics like terry cloths, or fleece ( so any fabric that produces lint is a no, no to me )
STEP 2 - If there are belts I always put them inside a little zip washing bag before going to wash.
STEP 3 - As the washing machine finishes, I remove them, give them a good shake and put them in the tumble dryer on a cold setting, (tumble dry inside out) for 5 minutes
NEVER DRY the corduroy completely in the tumble dryer
STEP 4 - After that, I turn the good side out, give another shake and very gently smooth and stretch seams on the belt, pockets, sleeves, around the arms, collar , cuffs and legs.
Hang it and let it air dry.
IT IS VERY IMPORTANTE TO STRECH THE GORDUROY AFTER. BELOW IS A EXAMPLE IF YOU DO NOT DO IT.
As you can see in picture 1 ( on the left side I stretched the collar and the pocket but did not do the same on the right side )
