INGENIOUS WAY TO SAVE TIME BY THINKING AHEAD #1

I’m always thinking ahead. What can I do now in order to save time in the future?

Because we use a fair amount of ginger at home and it is a bit of time-consuming to prepare it and clean up afterwards, I decided that will be quicker if we have already a bit prepared beforehand.

STEP 1 - Peel the ginger.

STEP 2 - Using an old fashion grater (an electric blender tends to remove too much juice from it ) I grate as much as I think I’m going to use in the next few days ( we drink a lot of fresh ginger tea and use on the preparation of our meals )

STEP 3 - Once finished grating it, I get a food brush and turn the metal grater upside-down and brush off as many ginger bits left behind, then turn it around and do the same at the back.

STEP 4 - If the grated ginger is to go into the fridge, put it into a container with the date on it and store it in the fridge, that way it will be easy to see how old it is. ( I know the freshly grated ginger is much better but life is to sort)

STEP 5 - You also can freeze it. Into a clinging film put the amount of ginger you think you are going to use, write a date on it and freeze it.

VERY IMPORTANT ADVICE. DO NOT PUT GINGER PEELS OR THE LEFTOVERS STRINGY BITS DOWN THE FOOD DISPOSER EITHER BIN THEM OR DISPOSE OF THEM INTO THE FOOD RECYCLE BIN.
